Tonight I took a bit of a sentimental journey. I went to see my Grammie for the last time at 447 Baird Street. A house that she has lived in for 57 years...and before that they lived in what is now the garage, while Grandad built the house.
I'm a sentimental at heart, so naturally leaving behind this structure stirs up melancholy. So many memories reside here, not only for me but for my mom and her brothers.
I am happy for Grammie that she is moving to an apartment where she will be surrounded by other seniors with plenty of activities to keep her busy. This is a great move for her, but I'm sure there is a part of her that also is sad to leave her home. Although I will admit, she is taking it all in stride.
I have lots of fond memories of/with Grammie (found here, here, here and here) and look forward to many more trips down memory lane over a cup of her famous tea.
