All my life I've had a "phobia" of gum. I'm not sure where it comes from, but gum just grosses me out. I don't like the smell of it, the look of people chomping on it, or touching it (even in the wrapper). Big Red or any type of cinnamon gum is the worst kind. Yuck! Just thinking about it grosses me out. Most times I can just politely refuse if someone offers me some, but if you know me long enough, you discover my intense dislike of the substance. I even wrote an essay in high school about this aversion. My teacher enjoyed it so much she made me read it in front of my class!! In fact, maybe I'll dig it up and post it here.

Well, last week I discovered I am not alone. OPRAH WINFREY shares my gum-phobia. When I signed in to my e-mail one day, I saw a link to a story about celebrity phobias and GUM was listed as one of them. I just had to find out who THAT was. I was delighted to know I'm not the only one!

Also...an interesting side note...on Saturday Jason & I were at the Detroit Science Centre. As we were entering the building, I saw the best sign ever. (only wish I'd had my camera) Posted by the door was a large sign that said "This building is Gum & Smoke Free". Ha ha ha...too funny!
