could be right before your very eyes - just beyond a door that's open wide - could be far away or in your own backyard - there are those who say, you can look too hard - for your place in the world - could be one more mile, or just one step back - in a lover's smile, down a darkened path - friends will take our side, enemies will curse us - but to be alive is to know your purpose - it's your place in the world

Abby's Big Day Out
As is the tradition, when a niece or nephew has a birthday, we spend the day together doing something fun. It's hard to believe but my niece Abby recently turned NINE! It's nice that her birthday is in July because we can always do something outdoors in the sunshine. This year I picked her up and we had a picnic along the St. Clair River. It's such a nice spot to sit and watch the boats and just enjoy the view. We stopped by to see Grammie (her great) and then were off for an afternoon at Bluewater Fun Park. It has been a long time since I've been to a water park, but one trip down the speed slide and I was back in the groove! The weather was perfect - hot and sunny so splashes in the pool were a welcomed relief. Of course, what is a day at the fun park without cotton candy, bumper boats, mini golf, water slides and ice cream? We did it all! I think we were both exhausted by the time we got home.
